For four decades I have devoted myself in harnessing my skills in designing world leading amplifiers. In so doing it is fair to say that I have established a name now synonymous with equipment used for high class guitar playing styles from world-renowned guitarists on countless records and concert stages, to local amateur bands playing at the pub on a Saturday night.
I discovered my desire to broaden my knowledge of live music technology when as a young struggling musician I could afford neither the latest nor the best products. With a naturally enquiring mind, I sought to learn how the instruments worked and how to improve them by combining existing design with more advanced technology, a vision that marked the beginning of my passionate journey to creating affordable tools that deliver the goods for working musicians – a philosophy I still apply today. The Wharfedale company has its own vision of providing consumers with the best audio-video products, and in recognizing the reputation that I have established in the music industry, as well as my philosophy in creating “value for money” products, presented me with an opportunity to build a partnership and further explore my abilities, not just as a designer, but as a musician as well – an offer utterly difficult to turn down. The collaboration eventually resulted in the formation of Albion in 2009. Equipped with probably the most advanced audio manufacturing facility available, we plan to bring you world leading amplifier products at honest “value for money” prices. They may never be the cheapest, because to me, being the cheapest means that they have been designed to be cheap – but we will always endeavor to present you with the best products we can, without charging you “over the odds”. Thank you for reading our first catalogue and for showing interest in our products. We assure you of many exciting new products in the coming months. We hope we can satisfy your musical ideas for a long time, as we have put all our hearts and exerted all our efforts into producing them.

We've built a lot of mixers in the last 40+ years and we still get a huge buzz out of doing it well. It's an unbeatable feeling to know that at any time of day or night, right across the globe, there is an Allen & Heath mixer out there working hard, sounding great and making life a little easier for the person at the controls.
Back in the early 70s we were hand-building consoles in a small factory in London for elite bands like Pink Floyd and The Who. These days Allen & Heath customers are spread across almost every environment imaginable, including touring, theatres, houses of worship, nightclubs, TV and radio stations, recording studios and countless other places where great sound matters.
We are proud to design and specify all the product ranges here at our headquarters in beautiful Cornwall, UK, with manufacturing split between our UK factory and a production facility in China. Our R&D teams are dedicated to designing world-class mixing desks using cutting-edge technology, advanced techniques and highest quality components. Quality has always been our watchword and we have an exceptionally dedicated team of production employees, many of whom have been with us for many years and who take responsibility for providing our customers with excellent products.
There are plenty of companies making mixers, but we believe we've got a very special selling point: we're truly passionate about what we do and understand what our customers do. This isn't just something that gets reflected in glossy brochures, it's something you hear when you pick up the phone to us, and you hear it most of all every time you use an Allen & Heath mixer. Every console has been meticulously designed to deliver the clearest and cleanest replication of the original sound, and that sound tells you a lot about the people who created it. Listen to a bunch of engineers talking about Allen & Heath mixers and you'll probably hear words like ‘transparency’, ‘clarity’ when considering the signal path and with processing such as equalisers 'warmth', 'depth' and 'fullness' used a lot. Those characteristics don't come about by accident - we tweak, tease, experiment and compare over many months to perfect each console we design, getting the very best from every component. We only introduce a new product when we're convinced that it sounds fabulous!
Of course, having a great sound is not good enough on its own, the products also have to provide the right tools to allow artistes and engineers the creative scope to produce the results they want, be that for a band performing at a venue or a DJ producing a new mix in a nightclub. Our customers make an important contribution to our products with their feedback on how they use products and what they would like to achieve next. Together we can continue to make great audio mixing products!

"People aren't hearing all the music.
Artists and producers work hard in the studio perfecting their sound. But people can't really hear it with normal headphones. Most headphones can't handle the bass, the detail, the dynamics. Bottom line, the music doesn't move you.
With Beats, people are going to hear what the artists hear, and listen to the music the way they should: the way I do."

Benz-Reeds represent the absolute best quality, precision engineered reeds available for woodwind instruments today.
Swiss craftsmanship is legendary, and Benz-Reeds carry this tradition into the hitherto neglected realm of woodwind reeds in true style. Each Benz-Reed is meticulously crafted from premium Arundo Donax cane. The properties of this cane are specially analysed in a newly developed process, with each individual reed being separately machined according to tension and resonance. This secret profiling process makes Benz reeds sound extremely good indeed. They are balanced, easy to play at all pitches and suitable for all styles of music. Now you can truly concentrate on your playing!
Benz-Reeds are the brainchild of veteran clarinetist Andreas Benz. While undergoing classical training at a Swiss theatre in the late 70’s, Benz was simultaneously instructed in the maintenance and manufacture of reeds by various professional solo clarinet players in the theatre. Realising that this was an art form in itself, Benz had a great deal of practice and hands-on experience making reeds at the theatre. At this time Benz also became interested in saxophone and quickly learnt the instrument from a professional sax player. Benz played both saxophone and clarinet in a succession of bands and orchestras over the next two decades, covering classical, folk, jazz, blues and rock styles.
During this time, Benz increasingly found himself devoted more to the material processing of reeds than actual playing, as the after-market reeds available at the time were not of the greatest quality and frequently didn’t work properly.
In his own words: “Every clarinette and saxophone player is familiar with the problem. Sometimes the reeds play well, sometimes they squeak, most of the time one is annoyed about not being able to achieve a clean tone.” Benz decided to definitively tackle this problem by establishing Benz-Reeds in the late 90’s. “My design enables an analysis of the tension of the specially chosen Arundo Donax cane and appropriate processing. These precise reeds are playable at all pitches.”
At present, no other method of making reeds is as meticulous and no other reed comes close to a Benz.

Since its formation in 1994, Hampshire (UK) based Clockaudio has achieved a position of high regard within the professional audio industry.
The company's reputation has been built on sound principles; its dedication to quality and service has gained the respect of all those who have encountered its products and staff.
Today, tributes and endorsements continue to precede Clockaudio into an ever-wider territory, helping the company to attract worldwide representation without the fanfare of its contemporaries.
Audio Professionals now actively seek out and recommend Clockaudio for its reputation as a trusted, proactive and dedicated manufacturer, and for its recognised customer driven approach to audio solutions. Central to this is Clockaudio's in house research and development facility, which allows clients to explore customised prototypes and develop incredibly specific briefs in partnership directly with the manufacturer, often working to very short deadlines and in low volumes. This partnership approach has struck a chord with consultants and contractors alike, giving them the opportunity to become involved in developing the ideal solution rather than having to make do with the most suitable off the shelf item.
This ability to customise is just one of the many factors which make the Clockaudio of today clearly different in a world of identikit manufacturers. Seventeen years since its inception, Clockaudio remains true to its founding principles - quality and service.

MC2 Audio Ltd. has been manufacturing technologically innovative amplifiers of the highest quality for the pro-audio market since 1994 when original founders Terry Clark and Ian McCarthy first combined their extensive experience in the audio industry to found MC² Audio.
Terry originally gained a worldwide reputation for design as co-founder and Technical Director of Klark Teknik. Ian's early experience was in hi-fi before moving into the manufacture of public address equipment in 1979 and then into professional audio in the early 1990s.
The story began in 1994 with the launch of the MC series at AES in Amsterdam. These amplifiers were received enthusiastically, being among the first in the market to be digitally controlled. The very high standards of sonic quality and reliability were set which all products that followed would have to meet. From the first the MC Series enjoyed particular interest from the discotheque and night-club market, where it proved itself capable of maintaining its high performance levels in the most demanding conditions
Monster Cable Products, Inc. was founded in 1979 by Noel Lee, who was then a laser-fusion design engineer at Lawrence-Livermore Laboratory, as well as an audiophile and professional drummer. Lee discovered that wires of different constructions produced varying degrees of audio performance when hooked up to loudspeakers. From this discovery, he developed a high performance speaker cable, named it Monster Cable, and literally created an industry. The invention of Monster Cable created a new product category that revolutionized the audio market. Prior to Monster Cable, most stereo systems were wired with ordinary "zip-cord," the same cable used for electrical household and lamp wire. Their inferior construction and cheap materials restricts power, dynamic range and clarity in the lows, mids, and highs.
Lee chose the name "Monster" because it sounded strong and powerful. It became an immediate hit with consumers. In fact, the name Monster Cable is so synonymous with high quality and high performance, customers often assume that any cable they purchase in reputable stores would be Monster even though there are other cable brands.
Monster is now the world's leading manufacturer of high performance cables that connect audio/video components for home, car and professional use as well as computers and computer games. Monster Cable is an indispensable component for music lovers, audiophiles, recording studios, sound professionals, musicians, custom-installers and home theatre enthusiasts. Monster's audio cables increase the clarity, dynamics and power of the audio signals that travel through them. Monster video cables deliver the sharpest, clearest picture possible with naturally vivid color from traditional and digital television, projectors, home theatre and satellite systems. Monster Game products lets enthusiasts enjoy the ultimate gaming experience by maximizing sound and video quality of a gaming system. Monster Power, a division of Monster Cable, delivers cleaner AC power to A/V components and computer products and high joule surge protection for maximum performance.
We make different cables for different applications. We basically have 2 different cable designs, coaxial and semi balanced. Our S100, Monster Rock and Monster Bass are coaxial cable with a conductor and a shield. The rest are semi-balanced with two conductors and a shield. The S100 cable is an all around entry level cable. Our Monster Rock is a mid-range and punchy cable. Our Bass cable is made with two solid core conductors for that superb bass response. The Monster Jazz is a warm sounding cable. Our Acoustic cable provides the natural richness and warmth you find in Acoustic instruments. Our Performer 500 cable is and advanced all around cable. The Studio Pro 1000 cable is the best cable for recording and will give you the most transparent sound from your instruments.

Andrew Grayland and John Austin former R&D manager and one of the Technical Directors of Klark Teknik started XTA in 1992. Having overseen many of the benchmark products produced by KT, both Andrew and John felt that DSP (digital signal processing) technology could find a home at the heart of PA systems. At this time DSP was often disregarded because of its audio quality, but Andrew and John felt with the right algorithms and using 32-bit processing coefficients instead of 24-bit - what the majority of DSP designs were using - digital equipment could be designed that would sound very pure and clear.
In March 2007, after over two years of talks, the directors of both companies came to the decision to merge XTA and MC2. This was completed just in time for Pro Light and Sound held in Frankfurt and was announced at the show. The deal saw Andrew Grayland leaving the group as a director and shareholder but continuing to work on a consultancy basis for the companies. Along with XTA and MC2 one more company completes the new cluster of business, Quested Monitoring, having been acquired by MC2 in 2004. Combining the recourses of all three companies, XTA is set to bring some very new and exciting products to the market. With a view to also start an education program at its UK headquarters XTA is continuing its growth and reputation for exceptional products and service.
